Lo and behold!

March 28th, 2007 at 04:46 am

Comcast credited my account $105 today. I think I can give credit to my bank. I wonder if they can just take money back if it's paid electronically?

Now I'm shopping for a new internet provider.

My paypal account was just credited $5 for a survey. I have another $5 coming and I have $7 available on a survey site. The $7 one is tranisition to paypal so I'm waiting to request payment.

Other things are beginning to show progress. It's slow, but progress non-the-less. Money is money, right?

I've decided that I will count money as I receive the check or it is credited into my account.

Sometimes it doesn't pay to try and save money.

Well, Comcast Cable still has not credited my internet account. I was paying the wrong bill on-line, my phone (that I cancelled in 11/06) instead of my internet. I had to get an extension to keep my internet on until I get paid again.

Now my bank is involved because I paid it on-line. Customer service people are involved at Comcast because they believe that my other account should have been credited. Apparently my money is out there floating around in never never land. Cashed by Comcast with no place to put it. A literal virtual money land.
$105.00 missing.

As soon as this thing is rectified, I'm canceling and going to another service. They are now Time Warner Cable. I really don't like them. Live and learn I guess. Sometimes it doesn't pay to try and save money.

I got my propane bill. $322. Trash bill will be coming soon and to top it all off, I think OT at work is stopping. Oh well.

A little here, a little there....

I now officially have $10 in my paypal account from surveys. I will be receiving a check for at least $20 from another place the beginning of April. Plus I have 3 paid to reads that I've been doing. I earned $10 just for joining one. Yeah, I did the research. I didn't think I'd get the survey money but I got that...so maybe the others will pay off too. I also got two coupons. One for $3.99 for creamer and one for $3.00 on those new greenie dog bones. I absolutely love free samples! Oh yeah, I did another $2.00 survey. This survey is still showing open. I do understand that sometimes it takes a while. Every little bit helps.

My goal is to earn a minimum of $129 each month to pay for my daughter's braces.

I've also joined a submit and be paid for short articles. I think I can write. One of the subjects they're looking for right now is terrorism. I don't know anything at all about terrorism. I'm hoping they eventually have something about xeroscaping in Southern California, poverty, single parenting, cactus or personal finance. I could probably wing those with just a little research.

In the mean time, life is still really hard. Propane truck came and filled me up. I'll get the bill in about 10 days. For two days in a row, I've declined lunch out with other employees. I rarely go anyway so I don't think that I shocked anyone. I have $27 in my wallet, another $5 or so in my change jar, $6 in the bank and about 6 white bags of cans and bottles. With missing overtime hours on Friday and last week, life is going to be a real crunch when I pay the bills next month. So far I really like saving all the checks and paying the bills once a month. I've only done it once, but I was really happy with it.

I saw a bumper sticker today that said "She who dies with the most shoes wins" I personally probably wouldn't call that winning, but to each his own. Right?

Almost laughing

Hi fellow bloggers,

Ended up at the doctor's office on Wednesday. I couldn't seem to get out of bed. Oldest daughter took me. They gave me a sample for new muscle relaxers. The spams stopped almost instantly and I didn't get the normal shot. The residual pain is still there and neck is very stiff. OUCH. I called in to work and told them that this time I'm not tearing up the doctor's off work order, this time I really am staying home. My neck really hurt. I also got one oxycodone. So managed the drive home without crying. Pain didn't go away, but I no longer cared. I haven't filled my prescription for the muscle relaxants. I still have one left and then there is the old stand by "motrin". Woke up with a really bad headache. It's probably related to my neck being so stiff.

Took my kids to the dentist on Friday. Younger son has six cavites. (He is the candyholic.) He asked about clear fillings and I told him there is no way. It's bad enough he has 6 cavities. Other two were cavity free. Dentist told me that my little girl needs braces. How funny. I told him she starts in April with the expander.

My new balance on my stupid debt is $11,579.39. My check will be short as I missed overtime on Friday. Oh well. Maybe I'll volunteer a Saturday. I've come to the realization that I may never have money again.

I did some paid surveys. I'm hoping I actually get paid.

Well back to the couch I go. I don't know why I'm more comfortable there with my reading pillow. I don't know how I'm going to manage 9 hours at the desk on Monday.

Happy St Patrick's Day.

Breathing again

Hello all,

I paid all the bills for the month except my internet. (still waiting for the refund for paying into the wrong account)

I'm trying to use a new budgeting system where I save all my checks then just pay all the bills one time a month. Things look different in my check book now. It seemed like before that I was setting aside money for bills, now it seems like I'm setting money aside for me. Kind of like reverse psychology saving up those payroll checks in my check register. This month I'm going to deposit them into my money market account. It won't be money market earnings because I won't be able to keep $2000 per month in there, but it will still be earning some interest while they sit and wait for bill time.

My oldest daughter spent some time in the hospital this week. She had pneumonia and bronchitis. A very scarey combination. She is better and was released Wednesday night.

Only 45 more months to go until I am stupid debt free (12/2010)!

My little girl is having her birtday party tomorrow. I'm trying to keep it as budget friendly as possible. My family comes over and we will have sandwiches, cake and ice cream. She also invited 7 friends. I know, she had some who couldn't come, then they could come and now she has 7. I just didn't have the heart to tell the kids they couldn't come.

I hope you all have a happy healthy weekend.

Shopping at the Grocery Outlet

March 5th, 2007 at 06:42 am

Hello Fellow Bloggers,

I am still trying to come up with ways to save money.

I'm going to cut grocery shopping again. I've been trying an outlet store and WINCO's . Seems to be helping, so I think I might be able to cut back on that expense by $20 for the month.

At the outlet I can get two 5lb bags of cat food for $2.84 per bag. It is the good cat food. The dogs have also been benefiting because I can get the really good dog food for about $10 for the 10lb bag. This is about a $15 savings per month. I just wish I could find the really good multiple cat litter for less than the $8.00 I pay for it twice a month.

I bought 3 boxes of dish washer detergent for $2.50 a box. Normally $4.99. Coffee bags for $2.50. Also normally $4.99. Juice and apple sauce is very inexpensive. TV dinners are anywhere from $1 to $2. Rice mixes for .50 per box.

Of course they don't always have what you're looking for, so I go there first and then to the other store afterwards. This week I got there just after they stocked up. So I was lucky to find so much that I needed.

I'm reading a book "Get Everything You Want With the Money You Already Have." It is an amazing book that recommends that you pay all your bills at the same time every month. Then you live on what's left over. I'm going to try it this month. This is why I had a little money for groceries. My mortgage isn't late until the 17th. So I will pay all the bills when I get paid again. I think it will work better for me, than trying to save half of all the bills each time I get paid, so that I have the money to pay them when I get them.

Things I could spend my stupid debt payments on:

March 4th, 2007 at 07:18 pm

If I paid $315 extra each month on my mortgage, my mortgage would me paid off 15 years earlier.

If I put $315 each month into savings I would have $12600 saved after 40 months - not including interest.

I would be able to afford both my kids going into braces at the same time.

I would be able to save for a cruise - something I've always wanted to do.
